Price formula

The Price formula decides the gem price of every item in the Item catalog. It is one formula for the whole platform: communities cannot change item prices, only the unlock fees and blueprint costs described in Unlock pricing. Capability: operations.

How a price is computed

An item's price is

gem price = max(tier floor, recursive scrap cost x conversion rate), then reduced by the highest matching high-value discount.

  • The recursive scrap cost breaks the item into its ingredients, and those into theirs, down to the base ingredients (wood, stone, metal and so on), each with a value in scrap.
  • A per-item ingredient value replaces the computed cost for items with no craft chain (for example some rifles).
  • The result is multiplied by the conversion rate (gems per scrap), rounded, and raised to the tier floor of its workbench if lower.
  • If the price is above a high-value threshold, the highest matching discount applies (discounts never stack).

The page

BlockDetail
Conversion rateScrap to gem, "gems per 1 scrap". Slider from 0.1 to 5 or a number up to 10. Default 1.0: one scrap is one gem.
Base ingredient valuesValue in scrap of each raw material.
Tier price floorsMinimum gem price for T1, T2, T3 and Eng.
High-value discountsRules "Above N gems, M% off". Add Threshold adds a row; the highest matching rule applies. These are not shown to players.
Blueprint ingredient valuesPer-item overrides of the ingredient cost in scrap. Search an item to add it; blank means computed.
Live PreviewA table of items with the recursive scrap cost, the New price under the current (unsaved) formula and the difference vs Current. Highlighted when something changes.

Save and apply

ButtonEffect
Save formulaStores the formula. Item prices do not change yet.
Apply to all itemsSaves the formula and recomputes the gem price of every item.

The item catalog's Recalculate button recomputes with the stored formula without saving first. Applying rewrites the price of every item, so check Live Preview first. Changed prices reach stores right away; players who already own an item keep it.

WARNING

Recalculating overwrites per-item price overrides entered in the item form. Keep exceptions in the formula (a blueprint ingredient value) rather than in the item.

If the page says "The platform formula has not been migrated yet", saving and applying are disabled until the platform has been upgraded; contact the operator.

An item prices at 0It has no ingredients and no ingredient value: add one under Blueprint ingredient values.
