Communities directory
The communities directory is the public list of communities on the landing page of the panel (panel.rustythrones.com). It lets visitors find a community and join its servers, and shows the platform's reach. Platform staff do not edit it: each community decides whether to appear.
How a community gets listed
In the panel, on Player site, the owner or an admin switches on List my community on RustyThrones (Player site). It is off by default and can be switched off at any time. A community is listed only if:
- the option is on, and
- the community is active (a suspended community is never listed, see Communities).
What visitors see
Each card shows what the community's own website already shows publicly:
| Item | Source |
|---|---|
| Name, logo, tagline, colour | Player site branding |
| Website | The community's verified custom domain, else its primary address, else its free address on rustythrones.com |
| Discord | The Discord link set on the Player site |
| Servers, online servers, players now | Counted over the servers the community chose to show on its website |
Communities appear in the order they were created. A last card, "Your community here", invites visitors to start their own. The block "Communities" with live totals (communities, servers, playing now) only replaces the plain feature list once there are at least three communities.
The list is cached for about a minute.
Support tasks
| Request | What to do |
|---|---|
| "We are not in the list" | Ask them to switch on List my community on RustyThrones and check the community is not suspended. |
| "Remove us" | They switch the option off; it takes about a minute to disappear. |
| A listed community shows no website | It has no website address enabled; check the Player site addresses. |
| A card shows 0 players | Its servers are offline or not shown on its website. |
Staff cannot list or unlist a community from the platform area. If a community must be removed urgently (abuse), the operator can suspend it.
