Base tech trees

Base tech trees is where the platform lays out the tech trees that every community starts from: the four game trees and any platform trees (for example Military). Capability: operations. Communities see these trees locked on their own Tech tree page (Tech tree and unlock pricing); they can show or hide them and set their prices, but not change the layout.

The tab strip groups Game and Platform; a + button creates a platform tree.

Edit a layout

  1. Pick a tab. Items sit on a square grid; {placed}/{total} placed counts the placed items.
  2. Drag items onto grid cells. Middle mouse or drag pans the canvas, the wheel zooms. Items not yet placed wait in the Unplaced items tray at the bottom; the x on a node sends it back to the tray.
  3. Click Save layout. Cancel Edits discards unsaved changes. Leaving or switching tab with unsaved changes asks for confirmation.
  4. Reset layout (game trees) clears every manual position of the tree for all communities, after confirmation.

The layout of a tree is global: a change reaches every community's store and website at once.

Which tab an item belongs to follows the game: its workbench, else the tree recorded by the game sync, else its parent chain. Skins ("Cosmetic") never appear in a tree. New items from a game sync arrive in the tray as Unplaced until positioned.

Platform trees

Create

  1. Click +, type the name ("Platform tree name..."): letters, digits, spaces, - or _, up to 32 characters. A name equal to a game tree is refused.
  2. In the right-hand panel search items and click to add them (the first 120 results show).
  3. Place them on the grid. Link Mode draws a connection: click a parent node, then a child node; click a line to remove it. Auto-layout arranges the tree. Cosmetic items cannot be added.
  4. Save layout.

Default fee

The field default fee (gems, 0 or more) is the one-time unlock price communities start with. Each community can change it in Unlock pricing. A fee of 0 makes the tree free.

Communities

Communities (with the number of communities that show the tree) opens "tree per community": a switch for each community. For a platform tree: off until turned on, by the community or here. For a game tree: shown in every store unless the community hides it.

A platform tree is off in every community until it is turned on. This is the way to launch a new tree to a few communities first.

Delete

The trash icon deletes a platform tree. The confirmation says how many communities show it; it disappears from them, while players keep what they already unlocked.

Notes

  • Items must be on sale (see Item catalog) to be bought; an inactive item in a tree is not sold.
  • Unlock prices of items come from the Price formula; only the fee per tree is set per community.
