Gems

Gems are the currency of a community. They are used for store purchases, tech tree research and custom kits. Gems only work on the community where you earned or bought them and have no cash value.

Your balance

The gem counter in the top bar is your balance on this community. It animates up or down when it changes. Click it to open the payment window. Your full history is in the gem log.

Ways to get gems

ReferralsRewards for inviting friends and for being invited.
Discord linkOne-time reward for linking Discord, if the community offers it.
Monthly passGems every month while the pass is active.
BuyingGem packs paid with a card (below).

Buy gems

  1. Click the gem counter in the top bar. The payment window has Monthly Pass at the top and One-time Gem Purchase below ("or buy gems once").
  2. Pick a gem pack. Each pack shows its gems, label and price in EUR.
  3. Click Pay €X for N gems, enter your card and click Confirm Payment.
  4. Gems are added right away. The purchase appears in Billing History.

Packs are set by each community. A new community starts with Starter (5,000 gems, 4.99 EUR), Raider (10,000 gems, 8.99 EUR) and Legend (20,000 gems, 15.99 EUR); owners can change them.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in euros. On a community that is not RustyThrones itself, gem purchases and passes work only once the community has finished its payout setup and legal details; until then a payment is refused with an error.

Refunds

If a payment is refunded or disputed, the corresponding gems are taken back from your balance (never below zero). A refund that is later cancelled or fails gives the gems back. Items that are not gems have no cash value and are not transferable (see Legal).
