Sign in with Steam
Your Steam account is your identity on every RustyThrones community website. There is no separate username or password.
How it works
- Click the avatar button in the top bar and choose Sign in with Steam. Pages that need an account (for example Dashboard or Account) open a Login Required window with a Login with Steam button instead.
- You are sent to Steam's own login page. RustyThrones never sees your Steam password.
- Steam sends you back to the community website, signed in. Your Steam name and avatar are copied from your Steam profile.
The first time you sign in on a community, your player record is created and you receive a one-time Registration Reward of 1,000 gems (shown in your gem log under that name). You only get it once per community, even if you sign out and in again.
Session

Each community is separate
Gems, quests, journey progress and purchases belong to the community you play on. Signing in on another community's website gives you a separate balance there.
Steam profile privacy
Your Steam profile name and avatar are shown on the leaderboard and your public profile. If your Steam profile is private the avatar may be missing; the rest still works.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |

| Steam login page loops or fails | Retry in a normal (non-private) window and allow cookies for the community site. |
| Signed out after a day | Expected: sessions last 1 day. |
| Name or avatar out of date | They are refreshed from Steam when you sign in. Change them on Steam, then sign in again. |
| "Login Required" appears on a page | That page needs an account. Click Login with Steam. |
